A custom sun clip follows the lens outline and accounts for the bridge, mounting points, and frame geometry.

This creates a sunglass layer that feels connected to the original design rather than hiding the lightweight appearance under a larger universal attachment.

Chemistrie Magnets Are Installed in the Lenses

The location of the magnetic system is especially important for rimless and semi-rimless eyewear.

Chemistrie does not require magnets to be built into a thick frame front. Small magnets are installed near the outer areas of the prescription lenses and outside the primary line of sight.

Matching magnets are embedded in the custom clip-on. As the sun clip approaches the glasses, the magnets guide it into position and create the connection.

Chemistrie can create clips for most prescription frames across all three categories. Final compatibility depends on the actual lenses, mounting hardware, prescription, material, thickness, and available magnet placement.

Glass lenses cannot be drilled for Chemistrie magnets. Workplace safety lenses are also excluded because modifying them could affect their safety certification.

Rimless Glasses Can Still Support Polarized Sun Options

The frame construction does not prevent the wearer from choosing from Chemistrie’s sun lens collection once the eyewear is approved.

Three Ways to Order Rimless Sun Clips

Customers can use the rimless or semi-rimless glasses they already wear by mailing in the complete pair. Eyenavision installs the magnets and uses the eyewear to produce the matching sun clip.

A customer can also send the existing frame without lenses and order new prescription lenses with magnets. This path may be useful when the current prescription is changing or new lenses are already needed.
